Where the intercultural blend of the family influences their wines in the best possible ways.

In the green heart of Umbria

Cantina Fratelli Pardi is located at the centre of Italy in Umbria which is famous for its agriculture of tobacco, olives and vineyards.

Cantina Fratelli Pardi winery: history goes back to 1919

Their story dates back to 1919 when the three brothers Alfredo, Francesco and Alberto Pardi established the Cantina Fratelli Pardi (The Pardi Brothers’ Winery). It was then located on the ground floor of the Saint Marcus Hospital, which belonged to the stately building of Saint Francis in Montefalco. The grapes used then partly belonged to the family while most were bought from the local landowners and the wines were sold all over Umbria and sometimes outside the region to important customers like the Vaticans. The winery was shut down in the middle after the death of one of the brothers and the old age of the other two. The tradition of winemaking, however, was revived again in 2002 by Francesco, Gianluca Rio and Alberto Mario, with the will of the Pardi family to continue the tradition and with the help of their parents Agostino and Alberto, restore the building in Via Giovanni Pascoli and revive their great-grandfathers’ winery.

A diverse blend of cultures

The new generation of Pardi family that runs the winery today is diverse as the family is a blend of Umbrian, Italian and Korean members who have lived in diverse countries like Venezuela and Australia.

This variety of experiences and influences are reflected in the wines at present

Presently, Cantina Fratelli Pardi makes red, white and dessert wines under the classification “Montefalco sagrantino”. The vineyards of this winery cultivate the grape varieties like sagrantino, sangiovese, merlot, cabernet, montepulciano, chardonnay, grechetto and trebbiano spoletino.
