The Story of Quinta da Boa Esperança

In Torres Vedras, lies Quinta da Boa Esperança, a wine estate owned by Artur Gama and Eva Gato Moura Guedes. The project is nestled in the rolling foothills of Zibreira where a mixture of indigenous and adventitious grape varieties are planted. White wines such as Arinto, Fernão Pires, and the signature Rosé, have a great maritime influence from the Atlantic Ocean. Meanwhile, the Montejunto Ridge, 20 km north of the vineyard provides the grapes for the red wines such as Touriga Nacional & Alicante Bouschet with warmth, so that they mature at their own pace.

Growing practices at the Quinta

Amidst the sunny setting of these valleys and slopes, cut by vines and fruit trees, Quinta da Boa Esperança is based on a concept of sustainable vines. A commitment to ensure the well-being of the vineyards, as well as protect the soils and its waters. The excellence of the grapes comes from a careful dedication to the vineyards throughout the year, which culminates in the commitment of a manual harvest. Many of the ingredients used for lunches and dinners, washed down with good conversation and good wine, come from the vegetable garden and chicken coop. The philosophy of sustainability is inherent to the entire farm.
