The first winery in San Polo, offering organic Sangiovese wines.

At Buccia Nera, Organic and Sustainable Farming is Top Priority

Buccia Nera is situated in Muciafora, a historical province of Arezzo. The Tuscan countryside enhances the exquisiteness of the estate. On this charming landscape, in a total of 495 hectares of land, 148 hectares are covered with vineyards and olive groves extend on 27 hectares. Organic and sustainable farming are the keywords concerning the mode of operation in the estate.

The Family Owned Winery with a Long History of Winemaking

The winemaking history of the Mancini Family began in the late nineteenth century with the construction of their first cellar. Amadio Mancini, the current owner of Buccia Nera along with his wife Patrizia took over the winery’s management in the 70s. They immediately started modernizing and enhancing cultivation and production techniques. In 2001, they adopted organic and sustainable farming. Amadio already received in the following year, in 2002, their organic wine certification for the vineyards.

Where Tradition and Modernity are Combined

Today, Anastasia, Alessia and Roberta Marcini, the daughters of Amadio, manage the winery. Dr. Sandro Nalli, an enologist and husband of Anatasia, governs the whole production, from the vineyard to the cellar. Most of the vineyards at Buccia Nera grow the fine and internationally known grape variety, Sangiovese. The vineyards are located on a hill at 500 meters above sea level with an excellent south-west location. A good composition of the soil, constant breeze, and favorable climate conditions ensure the production of high-quality red wines and white wines. If you are a true wine and nature lover, then visiting Buccia Nera provides you an opportunity to taste their exquisite wines in the beautiful countryside.
