Traditional Tuscan Wines from the Village of Montepescini

The History of the Fattoria Montepescini Winery

Fattoria Montepescini was established in 2000 in the Tuscany region. The winery is located in Murio at the border of Montalcino, south of Siena. The owner of the winery bought land in 1956 and became a farmer. He planted the first vineyards near the ruins of Castelvecchio. Until 2000, they only sold their wines in bulk, but his grandson, Massimiliano Governi, joined the winery to start producing and marketing their wines in bottles.

Fattoria Montepescini, a Sustainably-Run Winery

Massimiliano works on most of the essential winemaking tasks himself taking care of the vines daily to obtain the highest quality of grapes and make great wines. Fattoria Montepescini produces a variety of natural, conventional, and organic wines. The winemaker studies the relationship between the vines and the soil, understanding the terroir’s unique features imparted on the wines. Only organic methods are used to create the best grapes for further vinification. There is no compromise in the quality of their products.

The winemaker at Fattoria Montepescini Winery combines traditional values and modern processes to make some of the best wines in the area.
