A Unique Family Winery Producing Biodynamically in Beautiful Surroundings

Antiyal Winery, Family-Owned in Chile Since 1996

In 1996, winemaker Alvaro Espinoza and his family planted two acres of vineyards in Alto Maipo of Chile, fulfilling a family dream. For decades, the Espinoza Family aspired to create a unique, handcrafted wine that accurately reflects the Maipo Andes region’s terroir. Since the beginning, Antiyal Winery has been 100% family-owned. These values continue to guide their winery and stand today as one of the pioneers in practicing biodynamics in Chile.

The quality of the wines produced at Antiyal Winery serves as inspiration for other winemakers, who have ventured into sustainable, organic, and biodynamic practices.

Vineyards Nurtured with the Utmost Respect and Care

In 2003, the estate owners planted “El Escorial” estate in the Andean foothill’s rocky soils. They grow over 25 acres of vineyards divided into Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Grenache. The wines come from the vineyards that they cultivate following a holistic approach, respecting the terroir’s character, and conserving its habitat. Every year, Antiyal Winery produces around 50,000 bottles of wine representing this privileged valley in specific markets such as France, Germany, the United States, Canada, Belgium, Sweden, and China.

A Biodynamic Approach Towards Winemaking

Antiyal Winery has chosen a biodynamic approach to their winemaking as it provides a more authentic expression of the area’s terroir. This concept is made possible through the minimization of the external agricultural input, creating a healthy environment for the plants, bringing the soil back to its natural state, and expressing its unique conditions in the wines.
