Chateau Buera an Introduction

The winery Chateau Buera is located atop sprawling Kakhetian vineyards, overlooking the magnificent Caucasus Peaks. It is considered a gem of the Lopota Lake resort and spa. The idea behind the creation of the Chateau in the heart of the resort was of Goga Maisuradze – a visionary who stood behind an immense project of creating a hotel around the lake on a desolate terrain; which later contributed vastly to the invigoration of the Kakheti region as a whole, turning it into one of the most sought after touristic destinations. A passionate wine entrepreneur Goga, put tremendous effort into developing Georgian viticulture. Allowing the unique terroir of the Kakheti region to express their true characteristics in their grapes.

The Vineyards of the Chateau

Buera vineyards are located in a premium location near Lopota Lake whose cool breeze helps refresh the vineyard air all day long. They produce a variety of Georgian and French grapes including Kisi, Mtsvane, Rkatsiteli, Saperavi, Cabernet, Chardonnay, and Merlot. A recent addition to the collection is a Georgian indigenous Buera variety, after which the winery is named. Mindful of sustainability, Buera’s winemaking philosophy is about respecting the soil and the symbiotic relationship humans have with the land. The vineyards use organic practices to ensure premium quality grapes. Keeping in mind the health of both vines and the wine drinkers.
