History of the Mudgee wine region

Mudgee is a wine region in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia. It was established in 1838 and has been producing wine since 1842. Mudgee is one of the oldest wine regions in Australia. The first vines were planted in 1838 by John Macarthur at his estate "Granville" near Mudgee.

The church displays gothic architecture which was designed by the Bathurst country architect. The church organ was added in 1866 by J.W. Walker representing St. Jude Anglican Church of London.

Mudgee Town Hall

Mudgee Municipal Hall is a former town administrative structure that now houses a library and theatre. The structure is now managed by the Regional Council and is a recognized Heritage monument. This historic structure was constructed in 1880 under T. Clark's mayorship. The structure was damaged by fire in the late twentieth century and was reconstructed into its current form. The Mudgee library opened in 1979, and the theatre opened in 2012. The town hall is now a significant structure in the heart of Mudgee, as well as a tourist attraction.
