An Interesting Name and An Interesting Story
The winery started with a beautiful couple Jim and Jean Wooton who begain a wine journey while working with the military in Germany. A friend, whose family had been in the wine business for a 100 years, and who had a vineyard and winery in the heart of the Mosel wine region taught them the ins and outs of wine making. This inspired the Wootons to start their own thing and they established their winery. Yellow Car Country Wines is located in beautiful Southwest Colorado.
From our tasting patio the Mesa Verde National Park stretches out for awe inspiring viewing. We specialize in making Fruit Wines and Meads. As much as possible the fruit wines are made from fruit grown in the local region. Our mead (honey wine) is sourced from our valley. Everything you drink from our wine menu, 45+ varieties, we hand make.
