The Story of Quinta De Lourosa

The Quinta is in the property with a 17th-century chapel and a house-made during the 18th century. The last few decades have been significant for the winery, with a complete transformation for the betterment by Professor Rogério de Castro, a professor of viticulture. His attachment to the land extends to the family: wife, children, and grandchildren participate in the daily life of the property, making it a true home. Assisted by his daughter, oenologist Joana de Castro, Rogério de Castro made Quinta de Lourosa a place where respect for nature and tradition is harmonized with technical and daring innovation wine experiences.

The Vineyards at the Winery

Currently, with about 27 hectares, Quinta de Lourosa is distinguished by its innovative system of conduction, which favors solar capture and gestation of healthy and ripe grapes. Resulting in a balanced, fresh, and aromatic wine, at best the tradition of Vinho Verde. With the recent wave of new technologies, Quinta de Lourosa affirms the absolute primacy of environmental protection. The planting of vines takes place with strict respect for the landscape and soil, using ancient irrigation processes. At Quinta de Lourosa, the cultivation of vines is also a culture of values. Quinta de Lourosa is not just a company of wines: it is the fruit, simultaneously fresh and mature, of a science and a passion.
