About the S.A.Prüm Winery

VDP-Weingut S.A.Prüm is a German wine producer with a global presence and customer base. As one of the world's leading producers they have been producing quality wines for centuries and managed to stay at the top for decades. The winery is located in Wehlen and produces wines mainly from the Riesling grape variety.

The Prüm Family History

The Prüm family surname was firstly mentioned in documents in 1156 as the owner of vineyards. In 1842 Jodocus Prüm established a sundial on a rock in the best parts of his vineyards. In 1911, Sebastian Aloys inherited his own part of the Prüm family-owned vineyards and continued with the original part of the S.A. PRÜM winery holdings. His son Raimund Prüm senior started in 1950 and continued the success story of the winery. Unfortunately, he passed away in December 1971, and his son Raimund Prüm junior stepped into the company taking it over in 1973. Now the export of the wines got built up successfully and in the year 2017 time had come again to hand over the efforts of the winery to the next generation. Raimund's daughter Saskia Andrea a Diploma Engineer for wine took over as the first female winemaker in the very long family history. Nowadays the wines of S.A. Prüm are exported to a large number of countries worldwide.
